Le Cloître Saint-Salvi

Integrated into the Episcopal City listed as a World Heritage Site (UNESCO), these two buildings harmoniously combine different architectural styles. The cloister garden is a real haven of peace in the heart of the old town. Free.
Unquestionably, Saint-Salvi is the oldest church in Albi (late XNUMXth century). It is located a few steps from the cathedral square and is marked by an architecture of bricks and white stones and by its watchtower which dominates the district.

A passage through the cloister is essential, you will suddenly be transported to a haven of peace in the very heart of Albigensian entertainment. The cloister offers a corner of greenery and a garden of medicinal plants. Walk along the gallery, take the corridors and you will arrive at Place Saint-Salvi lined with its arcades.
Do not leave the place without immortalizing these typical shots of Old Alby.

Did you know ? A watchman was in place day and night to ensure the security of the city in the monastic tower, a brick turret called gachole (from gachar=watch).
Look up, you will see the coat of arms of the city of Albi and the coat of arms of Saint-Salvi.
