Let's meet Armand Chamayou, owner of the restaurant Le Clos and discover the charm of an old school, with the menu written on the blackboard and a marvelous terrace in the shade of the trees or enjoy a cuisine of southern inspiration .
Introduce yourself and tell us about your background?
I am Armand Chamayou, I took over the restaurant on April 6, 2023 “Clos Sainte-Cécile” of Isabelle and Olivier Arguel after having worked with them for 6 years. I want to be in this continuity and try to create a timeless place very vegetated, very relaxing, without music.
We offer formulas at 25€ and 35€ and at lunchtime large salads which serve as a dish and a dessert at 19€. We have a menu that will change a lot with the seasons. We work a lot in a short circuit and in total transparency, all our cards mention the origin of each product. We are open from Thursday to Monday noon and evening all year round.
Where are we located?
We are located in a former school which closed in 1996 and in 2004 was transformed into a restaurant. We found photos of former students on the walls and since I took over, I wanted to highlight the natural and vegetal side in the interior room. We are 30m from the bell tower with two accesses, one on the parking side of the cathedral and the other at 3 rue du Castelviel totally adapted for people with reduced mobility. We also offer the courtyard side for families wishing to meet for a more intimate moment as if you were welcoming into your home.
We have a magnificent view of the bell tower of the Sainte-Cécile Cathedral.
We have between 35 and 40 covers inside and 80 counting outside. Above all, remember to book in advance, especially to have a place outside on sunny days on weekends. (sometimes 15 days before).
A great team spirit
The new chef Yohann was Olivier Arguel's former second in the kitchen, who naturally became head chef. He is 30 years old, dynamic and wants to have fun and with whom we do things in pairs. For my part, I am in the oven and at the mill, I really like my job, I like people, I like to serve and I also spend time in the kitchen because I am a pastry chef by trade. We have a kitchen clerk, Axel and in the room there is Stephen and Laura. We are a team, different but we all complement each other, we all eat at the same time, we share like a family and we want to keep this spirit.
You can find us on Facebook with all the menus to discover.
