Le sentier du chevreuil

In the land of Dadou, the curved lines of the agricultural plateau, punctuated by farms, respond to the rugged relief of the ravines conquered by a thick forest. Between them, a corridor of hedges for a transition... Areas of edges favorable to deer.

Description

Woods and setbacks
In autumn, everything falls in the forest. Leaves and antlers… of deer. A simple shock, a jolting is enough. And here is the poor animal, momentarily without antlers, given the wacky nickname of “mule deer”. Already in ordinary times it is called cabrol! But antlers grow back immediately and at the onset of winter, two growths stand out clearly under their velvet sheaths. Still soft, the future woods are very fragile. The slightest shock makes their wearer suffer. Around February, they harden. In the spring they are formed. The roe deer "spawns" (rips off) their velvets by rubbing them against the trees. Brand new woods appear. We do not find the velvet residues: the roe deer eats them!
