The first estate to be labeled Biodynamic in Gaillac (since 1999), Château de Mayragues stands out for its buildings dating from the 12th and 13th centuries. The Estate produces a range of red, rosé, dry white, sweet white and ancestral method wines.
In the tasting cellar, discover the estate's wines... But also the estate's beer, all biodynamic!
The wines are made mainly from local grape varieties: Loin de l'Oeil and Mauzac in white, Duras and Braucol in red. The harvests are manual and the vinifications are with indigenous yeasts, no inputs other than a minimum of sulfites.
Beer brewed on site from the estate's barley grown biodynamically. Organic hops and organic cane sugar for fermentation in the bottle. Spring water from the estate. Unfiltered, unpasteurized beer.
You are entering an estate listed as a Historic Monument. The dovecote, the gardens, and the medieval castle make this place a magical place. The Geddes family will never cease to surprise you!
By tasting their biodynamically certified wine, you can only confirm that Château de Mayragues is an area of excellence!
In the summer, concerts are organized in the gardens, an opportunity to stay overnight since the castle also offers guest rooms.
The tasting cellar is open all year round for tastings and wine purchases. A call before stopping by will be appreciated.
