This house, made of bricks and half-timbered wood, has retained the characteristics of the old medieval houses of the old center: half-timbering, corbelling to save space, and an open-air attic “le soleilhou”… It appears at the bend of a discovery circuit , in the heart of a network of narrow streets, with the omnipresent bell tower of the cathedral as a backdrop. The ground floor is reminiscent of the old shops and a staircase leads upstairs to discover a permanent exhibition on the youth of the Albigensian painter, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. The Berbie Palace houses the collections of this now world-famous painter. The second floor is a video room and dedicated to temporary exhibitions.
