Fatoumata Diawara – Festival Pause Guitare Sud de France 2024

Tuesday July 02 at 21:45 p.m.
The Grand Théâtre des Cordeliers Place de l’Amitié entre les Peuples 81000 Albi
The Pause Guitare 2024 Festival invites you from July 2 to 7 for a new edition in Albi. With more than 65 spectators, this festival in Tarn is one of the biggest events of the summer.
If the time had come in 2018 for Fatoumata Diawara to unveil with Fenfo, (“Something to say”), 2023 brings together all the conditions for the great voice of Africa to offer with London Ko, a new album focused on the future.
Nominated for the Grammy Awards in 2019, for the Victoires de la Musique of the same year, best talent at the 2020 Africa Awards, nominated for the AEAUSA in 2022, Fatoumata Diawara accumulated honors with a record that condensed the essence of her musical journey since Fatou (2011). She expressed the keen eye of an African woman on controversial themes in contemporary society. The perfect reconciliation between electric sounds and the traditional melodies of a kora or N'goni, the Mandinka rhythm of the percussion and the griotic voice of Fatou, had been carefully thought out within his production house Montuno and with Mathieu Cheddid, who accompanies him on guitar and co-produces the album. The disc will be enhanced by the incredible photographs and videos taken in Ethiopia by Aida Muluneh, whose work is exhibited as far away as New York at MOMA.
