Véloroute Vallée du Tarn : Lescure d'Albigeois / Trébas

This section of the cycle route leads us, by small, quiet and picturesque roads, from Lescure d'Albigeois to Trébas.
ALBI: Birthplace of the painter Henri de Toulouse Lautrec, Albi offers a heritage
outstanding. The episcopal city, in the heart of the old center, is classified as
Unesco World Heritage.

SAINT-JUERY: The Saut de Sabo, a 500 m long rocky parade on the Tarn, offers an exceptional chaotic spectacle. This 18m natural waterfall greatly favored the establishment in the XNUMXth century of a long flourishing steel industry: the Saut du Tarn. Today, the former industrial site
is converted into a museum.

AMBIALET: Celts, Viscounts Trencavel, Counts of Toulouse, Crusade against the Albigensians… the history of this peninsula has always been turbulent. Built on its rocky outcrop which forms an almost perfect isthmus, the Romanesque priory continues to watch over the village as a real gateway to the Tarn Valley.
To discover: The priory – the isthmus of the river – the stations of the cross – Saint-Gilles chapel – the pier behind the hydraulic mill (be careful, the river is subject to floods or sudden surges of water – Follow the instructions of security ).
TRÉBAS-LES-BAINS: The baths yes, but in the Tarn. Trébas-les-bains retains only the name of its thermal past, but the water of the Tarn is part of the life of the village. In summer, everyone is active at the nautical base: supervised swimming in white water, canoe trips, beach games...
