Let's meet Charlotte and Martin, managers of Zoizo and discover their charcuterie, cheese from Italy and Spain as well as their catering corner in the historic center of Albi.

Introduce yourself and tell us about your background?

I'm Charlotte. I have been in the restaurant business since I was 15, I was in charge of the dining room for 10 years and I have always been passionate about cooking, so with experience I said to myself "Come on, let's take the plunge", so I went my CAP Cuisine and with Martin we knew that one day we would write our own story by opening our own business. I then worked for 2 years in a traditional restaurant in Rouen where I learned to make lemon meringue pie among other things and then I quickly evolved with a warm and human team in our image.

I'm Martin, I had several lives before entering the restaurant business, and one day I entered a shop in the spirit of Zoizo and then I climbed the ladder and I became a manager. . It was only natural to embark on this project where it is simple, efficient and qualitative for our customers.

Fate wanted us to land in the Tarn to get closer to the family with a common project. Big crush in Albi when we discovered this place in one of the most touristy streets of Albi: rue Toulouse-Lautrec. We took over the premises, formerly l'Ambroisie, and met Guillaume and Yasmine with whom we got on well and we wanted to keep this positive soul of the place while doing something other than classic catering, the concept had to change.

We must also shed light on our neighbors with whom they received a more than warm welcome: the Papillon; la Viguiere, the Lautrec, Taste Buds & Cocktails, The gallery Nadine Granier. The whole neighborhood came to meet us, helped us during the installation, we have a beautiful neighborhood soul. We were new, we landed from Normandy, our first business and we came across caring people and I haven't often seen that in the restaurant business.

The friendlier it is, the more people feel it

We had a lot of people who thought we wouldn't make it and suddenly we were even more motivated! We were sure of our quality because our suppliers followed us to deliver to Albi as we did in Rouen.

Where does the name Zoizo come from?

It's my dad Vincent Loisel, he was “the Zoizo”. We came to the Tarn thanks to him and as we were looking for a name, we naturally thought of him. Basically, Martin wanted to call the local “Charlotte” like me, but no (laughs).

Zoizo was the stage name of my dad, a singer musician that you can find on Youtube singing Brassens. He was a passionate and passionate person who was very open and who helped us a lot.
